250KT&G to Support KRW 100mil for Flood Victims in Cheongju and Geosan, Province2017.07.19

KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek) decided to immediately provide 100 million won for flood victims suffering from damage of human life and from property in Cheongju and Goesan, Chungchongbuk Province on July 19.

KT&G will donate 100 million one to Korea Disaster Relief Association, the only legal disaster relief association designated to collect donation by the Ministry of Public Safety and Security(MPSS). In addition, the Company will dispatch a volunteer group made of its employees and college student volunteers to the damaged area.

The donation comes from the Sangsang Fund. Sangsang Fund is KT&G's unique corporate & social responsibility fund, in which the company doubles the amount of money its employees contribute monthly.

In May, KT&G Sangsang Fund donated 350 million won for the wildfire victims in Gangwon province and Gyungsangbuk province. In September 2016, KT&G provided 500 million won for the restoration of cultural assets damaged by earthquake in Gyeongju which was the first case of donation from a private company.
