Ten Landstar employees are celebrating a big accomplishment this month. They've earned their Certification in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) designation from the University of North Florida.

The CTL is an internationally recognized transportation industry certification, which is offered in partnership with the American Society for Transportation and Logistics (ASTL). The course teaches general logistics management principals and techniques, transportation management, supply chain management, international transportation and logistics, and logistics and supply chain management and strategy.

'The CTL designation is just another demonstration of how Landstar is committed to customer service excellence. Not only are we providing both customers and our agent and owner-operator family with knowledgeable professionals, but this course also offers Landstar employees a unique opportunity to expand their logistics management skills,' said Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni. 'Hats off to all the 2015/2016 CTL graduates who studied nights and weekends to attain this designation.'

Congratulations to Brijesh Nayyar, Roman Lacanilao, Marie West, Michael Sterling, Kathy Couch, Stevie Dines, Ben Church, Octavia Boyd, Jack Ball and Chris Blackwell.

The 10 Landstar employees graduated from UNF's 5-month CTL course in October during a ceremony held at the University Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

Five other Landstar employees are expected to complete and graduate from the course in February 2016. More information about the Certification in Transportation and Logistics can be found on UNF's website.

Employees interested in enrolling in future CTL courses should contact Landstar Director of Training and Development Christy Loudermilk at cloudermilk@landstar.com.
