LATAM Airlines Group was the only airline selected from the Travel & Leisure category of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) - Emerging Markets, due to its sector leadership in corporate sustainability issues.

The DJSI is one of the main global indicators for business management as regards sustainable development in the economic, social and environmental sectors.  This past year was the first time that DJSI included emerging markets.  Chosen from a field of 800 of the largest market capitalization companies in 21 countries, 69 were incorporated into the last index; LATAM Airlines Group being one of the selected companies.

"This important achievement is an acknowledgment of our commitment to sustainability as a catalyst to corporate development. At LATAM, growth goes hand in hand with economic development; not to mention, social and environmental development, through initiatives that contribute to the enhancement of our communities' quality of life", said Bruno Ardito, Director of Institutional Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at LAN.

Ardito also pointed out that LATAM's primary goal, in terms of sustainability, is an effort to continuously develop and promote sustainable tourism throughout South America.

The nations included in the DJSI Emerging Markets are Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey.
