Company Recognized for Innovative Technology Use in Human Resources

(Reston, Va.) June 9, 2016 - Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a national security, health, and infrastructure solutions company, today announced it was awarded at the 10th Annual Helios Apollo Awards. The event recognizes Greater Washington employers for human capital excellence in talent development.

At the breakfast ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Reston, Leidos was honored in the Innovative Technology category for its use of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) that enable development and training for all employees regardless of location. MOOCS bring a classroom-like experience to a virtual audience, who can attend online at any time. They are designed to be flexible in terms of when employees complete learning modules and their ability to elect different learning activities within each module. Leidos also encourages employee collaboration through its innovative use of the intranet and Skype.

'The Apollo Awards underscore our dedication and commitment to providing the best support to our most important resource, our employees,' said Sarah Allen, Leidos Chief Human Resources Officer. 'Our use of technology and MOOCS reduces the barriers that can exist between locations and helps employees learn together to develop a team environment.'

The Apollo Awards are open to all employers, regardless of size or industry, with a location in the Greater Washington area. Out of the 250 nominations received, the honorees were selected by a panel of judges independent of Helios HR, comprised of industry experts, recognized Chief Human Resource Officers, and former Apollo Award recipients.
