Holiday Inn Express on Fort Bliss celebrates grand re-opening
20 May 2015

(Fort Bliss, Texas) - Lend Lease (US) Public Partnerships, the nation's leader in public-private community development, is celebrating the branding of the newly renovated Holiday Inn Express on Fort Bliss with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, May 19. The event will take place at 10 a.m., and will include remarks from Lend Lease representatives, IHG Army Hotels representatives, and Garrison Commander Col. Michael Hester.

"Lend Lease (US) Public Partnerships started this project in April of 2013, and we're very proud of the work completed here on Fort Bliss," said Mark McCommon, Development Manager for Lend Lease (US) Public Partnerships. "Our partnership with the Army, Fort Bliss, and IHG has proven to be a successful means to provide top-notch lodging for Service Members and their families at the best value."

The hotel is part of the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program, an Army-led program launched in 2009 as a means to revitalize on-post lodging facilities for Soldiers, their families and all government travelers. The program, which announced its third and final phase in May 2013, has enjoyed strong bi-partisan support from federal and local leaders alike thanks to a proven track record of delivering above and beyond expectations.

The hotel renovation on Fort Bliss included 145 upgraded rooms, outdoor leisure areas, building upgrades and improvements, and the lobby and breakfast area. The PAL program is composed of more than 11,600 hotel rooms across 39 military installations nationwide, including 12 completed Holiday Inn Express hotels, and seven more under renovation.

"With a well-known brand like Holiday Inn Express now on Fort Bliss, Service Members and government workers have a new level of comfort when they're on post," said Marc Sierra, Lend Lease (US) Public Partnerships Managing Director. "We couldn't have continued to successfully implement this program across the country without the Army's commitment to push this innovative privatization project forward."

All profits from the program are reinvested back into hotel maintenance and upgrades, ensuring the facilities will remain top-notch for decades to come. Lend Lease is the exclusive owner, developer and asset manager for the Army's entire lodging portfolio. IHG, one of the world's largest hotel groups, is the hotel operator.
