Lend Lease today announced that its engineering business has been appointed preferred tenderer in respect of the contract to design and construct the NorthConnex Motorway in Sydney, New South Wales (formerly known as F3-M2). Lend Lease has partnered with leading French construction entity Bouygues Construction to deliver the project. The award of the design and construct contract to the Lend Lease Bouygues joint venture is subject to planning approval being obtained and finalisation of contract terms.

Transurban has indicated that the project has a construction budget of A$2.65 billion.1

The project is a nine kilometre twin tunnel tolled link from the southern end of the M1 Pacific Motorway (formerly the F3 Freeway) at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 Motorway at its existing Pennant Hills Road interchange. The project is being undertaken by Transurban Limited and its partners in the Westlink M7.
