Once a year "the stage is set for future talents". At the Apprentice Award granted by the industrial section of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the best apprentices in Upper Austria during their second year of training in different categories were honored.

This year's 13 thannual award ceremony bestowed the top three awards in the category "Mechanical Engineering" on apprentices from Lenzing. Bernhard Hausjell (1 stplace), Michael Stix (2 ndplace) and Simon Premm (3 rdplace) received the trainee awards on June 23, 2015 within the context of a special ceremony held at Design Center Linz.

"Future-oriented human resources planning and development are very important for the Lenzing Group. Well-trained skilled employees comprise a major competitive advantage for us", states Stefan Doboczky, Chief Executive Officer of Lenzing AG. "For this reason, we also attach great importance to ensuring a very good, comprehensive and practical training for our young talents. In this way we safeguard the high standards we require for our company. I am very proud that today three of our young professionals won this award, and I congratulate them warmly on their success".

Each year about 50 new apprentices begin work at Lenzing. There are a total of 13 different professions which can be learned at Lenzing, including chemical process engineering, metal technology, plastics molding and electrical engineering.

Gottfried Englbrecht-Dießlbacher, Training Manager at Lenzing's educational center "Bildungszentrum Lenzing" (BZL), says: "The BZL assumes responsibility for the entire training of apprentices at the Lenzing Group. We take care of more than 170 young people, from selecting and admitting the trainees up until their final apprenticeship examination. In addition, we also train 250 external apprentices for more than 50 companies, and support about 200 adults, who later receive their apprenticeship certificate within the context of second chance education. Accordingly, BZL is one of the largest apprentice training centers in Austria. And we are extremely proud of the fact that our apprentices turned out to be so successful this year."

Project L3 - Live, Learn, Lenzing

Lenzing launched a new apprenticeship initiative designed to make it easier for young people to get an insight into life as an apprenticeship. The project is called L3 - Live, Learn (as an apprentice), Lenzing. A team of eight apprentices in different professions in their first and second years of training will issue reports in Facebook starting now about their lives in and around Lenzing.
