GOWEX starts providing services in Africa through Yattoo, a Republic of Congo leading internet provider.

 GOWEX initiates its services in Pointe-Noire, the second most populated city in Congo-Brazzaville with over 1 million inhabitants. In the first phase, the free Wi-Fi service will be available in large touristic areas as hotels, restaurants and bars at the Congolese city.

Madrid, March 5th 2014-.GOWEX (GOW-MAB, ALGOW-NYSE Alternext, LGWXY-OTC Market), leader company in creating Wireless Smart Cities®, has reached an agreement with OFIS, one of the leading Internet providers in the country under the brand Yattoo.com, that provides IT and telecommunications services to administrations, businesses and individuals in the region of Congo-Brazzaville.

Through this partnership, GOWEX enters into the African continent, providing connection services to Pointe-Noire, the second most populated city of the Republic of Congo, with over 1 million inhabitants, and the principal commercial city in the country.  More than 48% of its population is under 20, target public using Wi-Fi connectivity services.

Jenaro García, CEO of GOWEX, stated that "the Central African countries, as Congo, represent emerging key player in the international expansion of the company as they have a huge growth potential". "In this regard, the partnership with Yattoo.com will progressively contribute to universalize the free Wi-Fi access in the region, encouraging the technological and social development", Mr. García added.

Hotels, restaurants, bars etc.

The network will have more than a hundred free Wi-Fi hotspots located in areas of high touristic affluence of Pointe-Noire in which Yattoo.com is present, like hotels, restaurants and bars in the city, etc., and where free wireless connection is highly demanded and an essential service for clients. Along these areas, residents and visitors can navigate in the Congolese city with no additional costs through the network .FREEYATTOOGOWEX.

Boom of Internet mobile in Africa

Mobile services and Internet access in Africa are more and more demanded day by day. According to a recent study by McKinsey consulting firm, around 50% of the population living in urban areas is now online, due to the proliferation of low-cost smartphones offers in African countries.

In 2025,there will be 600 million smart devices users in the African continent, and there will be 360 million smartphones in the market.
