The Chinese city of Ningbo chooses GOWEX for the management of its smart services and networks

Ningbo, the city with the second most important port in China, and fifth most important in the world, will have free Wi-Fi and smart wireless services thanks to GOWEX. GOWEX consolidates its commitment to China and the Asian market, bringing its services to the main urban and industrial areas of the world, with a total population of 12 million people.

Madrid, 15 January 2014-.GOWEX(GOW-MAB, ALGOW-NYSE Alternext, LGWXY-OTC Market), leading company in the creation of Wireless Smart Cities® has reached an agreement with Ningbo, a city of more than 7 million inhabitants and a floating population of 5 million people, and one of the world's main ports. Ningbo City Council has choose GOWEX for the management and coordination of its own telecommunication services as well as those of third parties that operate in the city as a result of an exclusivity agreement which remains effective for 15 years.

Wireless Smart Cities® + Free Wi-Fi

GOWEX will perform the role of neutral telecommunications manager, that is, it will work together with local operators, and different companies from the city, as well as the City Administration in order to maximize the performance of different networks and to offer free wireless connection services to residents and tourists. Furthermore, GOWEX's infrastructure will be consolidated as a NeutralHub (connection center) from which all of the city's networks will be managed following the public-private collaboration philosophy that the Company promotes.

Next March 2014, the first phase of the project will enter into operation, and will slowly start to incorporate GOWEX's different Wireless Smart Cities® platforms, which are already in operation across the Company'smore than 80 wireless cities. These platforms will provide Ningbo with the capacity necessary to offer smart services to the city and, at the same time, monetize its networks and reduce the management costs of the city's different services. In order to achieve this, the Spanish company will replicate its services in the city, creating a ground operations' center which will include the direct and indirect creation of employment, the development of work teams and the deployment of infrastructure.

"We are continuing to grow with the trust and support of cities all over the world such as Ningbo, who trust in our unique technologies and models in order to enhance their sustainable, smart and modern growth. It gives us cause for pride and poses a great challenge for us" says Jenaro García, CEO of GOWEX. "Our world strategic growth plan - and specifically in China - is reaping its rewards, after the agreement with Hong Kong PCCW, ZTE and different regional and national operators, last year; today the agreement reached with Ningbo consolidates our path to growth with the support and leadership of cities in Continental China, which represents a great milestone for us", states Jenaro García.
