The Company's core net sales during the quarter increased 25.7% YoY to $2.6 billion, boosted mainly by strong results in Display Technologies segment. Corning's Display Technologies segment core sales were $1.1 billion, up 62.4% YoY. Corning's net income during the quarter stood at $1.0 billion, or $0.72 per diluted share, compared to $408 million, or $0.28 per diluted share, in Q3 2013. (SunEdison) announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Rajasthan Government to set up multiple solar power projects of 500 megawatts (MW) capacity each, totaling 5 Gigawatts (GW), in Rajasthan, India. The MoU comes after the new Solar Policy was announced by the Government of Rajasthan, which aspires to create 25 GW of solar capacity in the state in the next few years. The Rajasthan government will facilitate the identification of government land suitable for the development of solar photovoltaic projects as well as allot land on a long-term lease in accordance with the applicable policies of the state government. Additionally, the state government would create and provide the necessary electricity interconnection infrastructure, the Company said. SunEdison's stock rose 1.93% to close at $19.06. (tw telecom) jointly announced that their stockholders have approved the proposed acquisition of tw telecom by Level 3. In June 2014, Level 3 had agreed to acquire tw telecom in a stock-and-cash transaction valued at $40.86 per share. According to the announcement, owners of 86.2% of tw telecom stock approved the deal, while owners of 99.7% of Level 3 stock voted in favor of the deal at their respective special meetings. The deal has already been approved by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
