Hammond nurse recognized as 2017 'Leader of Tomorrow'

HAMMOND, La. - Kayla Bruce, an LPN at Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Hammond, has been recognized as a 2017 'Leader of Tomorrow' by I Advance Senior Care magazine - a leading business magazine covering administration and nursing practice in the long-term and post-acute care industry.

Each year, the magazine's selection committee names five national winners from nominations submitted. According to the magazine, the winners are 'inspirational proof that hard work, creative thinking, and a passion for teamwork can solve problems, energize staff, and improve the lives of residents.'

Bruce was nominated for the 2017 'Leader of Tomorrow' award by a patient's family member.

'When I learned that I had won, I was excited and surprised,' Bruce said. 'I am thankful that a patient's family member nominated me. It feels very special to be recognized for the work I do for our patients and families.'
