Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) announced today that Beth O’Brien, head of Finance and Strategy for Lincoln Financial Group Distribution, has received Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2015 Women Worth Watching® award for her passion, potential and contributions to the workplace.

O’Brien joined Lincoln Financial Group in 2013 and has played a critical role in driving growth for its two leading distribution franchises: Lincoln Financial Distributors and Lincoln Financial Network.

“Beth truly embodies the characteristics that make a Woman Worth Watching,” said Kathie Sandlin, editor in chief of Profiles in Diversity Journal. “Since joining Lincoln last year, she has not only used her skills to create and develop new growth opportunities for the organization's leading franchises, but has also provided other women the mentorship and support they need to succeed in their careers. That is a tremendous impact to have on an organization, and in a very short amount of time. We're proud and excited to be able to feature Beth among the women we honor for 2015.”

This is the second consecutive year that a Lincoln executive has been recognized with the award by Profiles in Diversity Journal. Ellen Cooper, executive vice president and chief investment officer for Lincoln Financial Group was the recipient of the 2014 award.

The magazine's annual September/October issue celebrates the achievements and personalities of 160 leading women executives, who are nominated by their colleagues, peers, and mentors for their initiative and achievements. To be considered for the award, nominees must hold a senior executive management position, sit on the board of directors, or report to the president or chief executive officer of the organization. Selection criteria also include demonstrating how they have distinguished themselves in their career or chosen field.
