Jeffrey D. Coutts Named Lincoln Financial Group Corporate
Treasurer
Philadelphia, January 24, 2012 - Lincoln Financial Group
(NYSE:LNC) today announced that it has named Jeff Coutts to
the position of Corporate Treasurer, effective immediately.
Coutts previously served as SVP and Head of Financial
Management for the company's Insurance and Retirement
Solutions division. In his new role, Coutts will report
directly to Chief Financial Officer Randy Freitag.
"Jeff has a deep understanding of our businesses and the
financial markets, and he is respected inside the company and
in the industry for his expertise and knowledge," said
Freitag. "We are pleased to have someone of Jeff's
caliber as our Treasurer."
As Treasurer, Coutts is responsible for overseeing the
balance sheet along with having firm-wide responsibility for
capital, liquidity, bank and rating agency relationships,
corporate insurance and obligations, capital markets
activities, treasury operations and asset-liability
management. Coutts began his insurance career in 1992 at
North American Life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada before
moving to Jefferson Pilot Corporation in 1996, where he
served as Corporate Actuary prior to the merger of Lincoln
Financial and Jefferson Pilot. At Lincoln, Coutts headed
product development for the Employer Markets division before
being named Head of Financial Management for Insurance and
Retirement Solutions.
Coutts is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and also holds
FCIA and MAAA designations. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce
degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Manitoba
in Winnipeg, Canada.
