Local Corporation (NASDAQ: LOCM), a leading local advertising technology company, today announced that it has promoted Scott Reinke to the position of chief legal officer, effective July 1, 2014.

Reinke joined the company in 2009 as general counsel responsible for managing the company’s legal initiatives, including contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, and intellectual property. In his new role, Reinke will also be responsible for leading the company’s patent portfolio strategy.

“Over the last five years, Scott has played a key role in supporting our continued growth and we look forward to his ongoing contributions leading our go-forward patent portfolio strategy,” said Fred Thiel, Local Corporation chairman and chief executive officer. “His proven track record and strong leadership will serve us well as we continue to grow our robust intellectual property portfolio and leverage strategic opportunities in this important area.”

Reinke has more than 15 years of corporate law experience. Prior to Local Corporation, he served as executive vice president and general counsel for Emerging Media Group, Inc., which owns and operates TRAFFIQ, Inc., a leading digital media management and media buying platform, and Market Maker Interactive, a leading full-service interactive agency. Reinke also served as the vice president of legal and AGC for MIVA, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIVA), a provider of performance-based online marketing and commerce services.

Reinke holds a juris doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He also holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and Political Science from Boston College.
