ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 18, 2014 - Today, about 1,000 Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] employees, family and friends revived Quest's Camp Thunderbird in Apopka, Florida. As part of the largest company-led United Way Day of Caring event in Central Florida, Lockheed Martin volunteers completed 92 projects, from renovating buildings to landscaping to improving wheelchair accessibility.  

Quest's Camp Thunderbird has been in Central Florida since 1969 and provides a residential camp experience serving adults with developmental disabilities and children of all abilities.

"Camp Thunderbird plays a critical role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in Central Florida," said Jon Crump, chief information officer and 2014 Community Charity Campaign executive champion at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. "We respect Quest's mission and are honored to help rejuvenate Camp Thunderbird, which provides valuable resources to members of our community."

Lockheed Martin has a legacy of supporting the community. Last year, Florida employees logged more than 100,000 volunteer hours, and those in Central Florida donated more than $1 million through United Way's employee giving campaign, which supports 50 agencies and 400,000 individuals locally.
