London, Singapore Bourses Held Merger Talks

London Stock Exchange Group PLC (>> London Stock Exchange Group Plc) and Singapore Exchange Ltd. (S68.SG) have held informal talks about a potential merger, the Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.

The report said the chief executives of the exchanges are "believed to have held" discussions about a possible combination in recent weeks.

The London Stock Exchange had no comment.
