LP Building Products has again been awarded the prestigious “Partners of Choice” Award from David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately held home builder.

This is the second consecutive year that LP has been selected for the award.

LP was among 16 outstanding suppliers that David Weekley Homes recognized today using its industry-leading evaluation platform, the National Trading Partner Survey. A major component of the National Trading Partner Survey was first implemented in 2004.

LP achieved an “A,A” ranking in both service and quality. This is the highest award presented by the homebuilder.

“It is a huge honor to receive this prestigious award from such a great company and partner,” said Craig Sichling, LP’s field sales vice president.

“Our company works to provide exceptional quality and service in everything we do,” Sichling said. “To be honored by one of the nation’s largest builders for doing that is a testament to the hard work that LP employees and channel partners put into what they do every day.”

LP first achieved an “A,A” ranking in David Weekley Home’s National Trading Partner Survey in 2014. The company received an “A” in service in 2012.

David Weekley Homes’ survey uses a series of evaluations, one-on-one discussions, formalized feedback instruments, coaching sessions and action plans to analyze supplier performance across all industries.

Fewer than 10 percent of the company’s suppliers rate an “A,A.”

“LP is world class,” Bill Justus, vice president of Supply Chain Services for David Weekley Homes, said. “The company was willing to put its products and services up against anybody, anytime, anywhere, and came out on top two years in a row.”

The unique The National Trading Partner Survey that David Weekley Homes uses to assess its suppliers is a detailed review of supplier performance based on the views of about 800 David Weekley Homes team members from all levels within the company.

The quarterly survey measures access, communication, timeliness, reliability, follow-through, confidence levels and other areas important to the business relationship.

LP Market Development Manager John Doggett shares the survey’s quarterly findings with all of LP’s sales managers and market development managers and distribution partners who serve David Weekley Homes.

“Communication is the key for LP winning this prestigious honor,” said Doggett, who coordinates service for the David Weekley Homes account.

“It is a great report card and follow-up for us to get even better,” Doggett said. “We use the survey’s findings as an opportunity for improvement and to better our relationships and communication,” Doggett said.

LP supplies products to 11 of David Weekley Homes’ 19 markets. Those products include LP TechShield® Radiant Barrier sheathing, LP TopNotch® Sub-flooring, LP SmartSide® Trim & Siding, and LP SolidStart® Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL).
