LPKF WeldingQuipment GmbH is a specialist when it comes to laser welding machines for plastics. At Fakuma in Friedrichshafen, Germany, the company will demonstrate the outstanding possibilities this technology creates: from welding of large automotive parts to ultrasmall-scale fine-focus applications for medical technology. At Booth 4219 in Hall A4, the laser machine manufacturer will present its product portfolio.
The company introduces the PowerWeld 3D 8000 for mass production of large welded plastic parts such as vehicle taillights. In a quasi-simultaneous welding process, weld seams with varying widths and homogeneous temperature distributions can be generated. Local tolerances are smoothed out by the system. It can weld parts with dimensions of up to 1000 x 750 x 400 mm. Joint monitoring provides for quality control. This ensures that the joined parts are reliably bonded and can be used in areas requiring an IP67 rating.

InlineWeld systems are directly integrated into production lines. With one of the newest systems, the InlineWeld 6200, especially low-cost plastics welding is possible. The machine can be used in any industry - wherever plastics are welded with a high production rate. Defined electrical and mechanical interfaces and very compact switchgear allow for easy integration into production lines. On request, the InlineWeld 6200 can also be supplied for stand-alone operation.

At LPKF, it's not just the reliability systems integrated into the machines that ensure process reliability. With the TMG 3, LPKF offers a device that tests the defined material parameters of upstream products. The TMG 3 detects irregularities by measuring the transmittances of the joining partners and can thus provide indications about the material quality as well as the attainable weld quality. LPKF calibrates the delivered TMG 3 according to DIN 9001, making it directly qualified for quality assurance that conforms to standards.
