The 10th edition of the Puppet Hospital (Hospital BOnequinhos), an initiative of the Medicine Students Nucleus from Universidade do Minho for children, will take place next December 21, at Hospital da Luz Guimarães, this time in a Christmas version. The Puppet Hospital is a fictional hospital, where all the clinical process is recreated, from diagnosis to treatment, passing by consultation, complementary exams, surgery and pharmacy.

The main purpose is to help children lose the fear of 'white coats', that so many manifest in consultation and exams.
Thus, parents are invited to bring their children carrying a puppet - a teddy bear, for instance -, which will be the 'patient' in need of care. Recreating the clinical trajectory, there will be students of Medicine and Nursing from Universidade do Minho, with the collaboration of colleagues from Basic Education. The initiative will take place in the hospital's floor 0, in the area of internment reception, between 9:00 a.m. and 19:00 p.m. (with lunch pause).

Preschool children from Colégio do Ave, Colégio Nossa Senhora da Conceição and from school EB1/J1 Mascotelos are expected. But foremost, from 17:00 p.m. on, the activity will include a 'free-schedule time' to receive individual children, duly accompanied by an adult.
