LUZ SAÚDE Hospital da Luz Ophthalmology Distinguished in the USA
20-04-18A study on cataract surgery conducted by the Ophthalmology Service from Hospital da Luz Lisboa was distinguished among all papers presented in the annual congress of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ARCRS), that took place in Washington, between 13 and 17 April.
Besides receiving the distinction of Best Paper on Cataract Surgery, the study was debated during a special session dedicated to the review of the best papers presented in the event.
The study was presented by Hospital da Luz Lisboa ophthalmologists Tiago Bravo Ferreira and Filomena Ribeiro, director of the Ophthalmology Service (both in the picture above, receiving the distinction). It resulted from research made in this service in view of improving results in the treatment of astigmatism in cataract surgery.
The annual congress of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery is the major meeting of specialist physicians and other health professionals in the area, organized in the United States.
