'European Radiology' Publishes Work by Hospital da Luz Medical Team

'European Radiology', the most renowned European publication in the area of radiology, edited the work of a multidisciplinary team led by imaging specialist Vasco Mascarenhas and orthopaedist Paulo Rego, from Hospital da Luz Lisboa.

In this work, they characterized the hip morphology in healthy individuals resorting to CT (computed tomography).

The normative values thus obtained were used as reference for the detection of disease situations and, consequently, for the definition of the most adequate treatments.

Vasco Mascarenhas is coordinator of the Musculoskeletal Imaging Unit from Hospital da Luz Lisboa and Paulo Rego is coordinator of the Orthopaedics Service from the same hospital. The work, based on a sample of 350 individuals, was published in the 30 August edition of 'European Radiology' and the abstract is available at PubMed.
