Lynas Corporation Limited ("Lynas") (ASX:LYC, OTC:LYSDY) is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Lacaze as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective from 1 January 2014.
Ms Lacaze is a highly credentialed director who currently serves on the boards of ING Direct, McPherson's Ltd, the Advisory Board of the CMOS research group at UTS, and is a member of Chief Executive Women and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She is Managing Partner of MLC Consulting, a business she founded which has provided strategic advice to businesses in the telecommunications, logistics, food and manufacturing industries. Her particular area of expertise is in strategic marketing and pricing.
Lynas Chairman Nicholas Curtis said: "Amanda is highly-regarded for her skills in strategic marketing and her focus on delivering outstanding financial performance. Her expertise will be a valuable addition to the Lynas board."
Ms Lacaze brings more than 20 years of senior operational experience to Lynas, including management of both publicly listed and private companies as Chief Executive Officer of Commander Communications, Executive Chairman of Orion Telecommunications, and Chief Executive Officer of AOL|7. Prior to that she was Managing Director of Marketing at Telstra and held various business management roles at ICI Australia (now Orica and Incitec Pivot). Her early experience was in consumer goods with Nestle.
"I have no doubt Amanda will be a great contributor to the strategic direction of Lynas, particularly as the company continues its evolution from project developer to industrial producer, which is Amanda's core area of expertise," Mr Curtis said.
Ms Lacaze holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Queensland and a postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
