Two new facilities in northern state of Coahuila de Zaragoza


SALTILLO, Mexico, September 10, 2013 - Magna International Inc. continues to expand in Mexico by celebrating the grand opening of two new auto supply facilities: a Magna Interiors plant in Arteaga and a Cosma International plant in Ramos Arizpe. Company officials were joined today by Coahuila governor Ruben Moreira Valdez as well as customer executives in ribbon-cutting ceremonies at both locations.

"Magna is a world-class, globally recognized company, and it represents a good number of highly skilled jobs in the State of Coahuila," said Governor Valdez. "It also represents recognition of our workers, our students and the promotion we do in the state for job creation. We recognize the entire Magna team and the work they have done to help build the company's presence in Coahuila - they are great friends of our state."

The new Magna Interiors facility, a 148,000-square-foot building, will employ approximately 345 people at full production. The facility will primarily manufacture headliners and complete overhead systems and consoles for a variety of auto makers.

The new Cosma International facility, called CIMS, occupies 120,000 square feet and will employ approximately 180 people at full production. The facility will focus on engineering and design, including mechanical 2D and 3D assembly processing, and compete 3D assembly line design.

Magna currently has 30 facilities operating in Mexico, 29 of which are manufacturing and assembly plants.
