Magseis is planning to once again attend the Society of Exploration Geophysicists in Houston Texas 24 to 29 September. However, with the recent devastating flooding and how the Hurricane Harvey has affected the local community and region we are monitoring the situation closely. The George R Brown Convention Center, the venue of the SEG Annual Meeting, is currently housing 10 000 people affected by the Hurricane. and our thoughts are with them.

To show our support for the city of Houston, we follow the SEG's suggestion of helping by providing financial support to one of the organisations providing disaster relief to the people of Houston and the surrounding areas. We also encourage our colleagues within our industry in Norway to do the same. The most devastating effects are on local people and local business. Magseis is a company depending on the oil and gas industry in the region, an employer of people from Houston, and in the process of recruiting more people based in the Houston area. Therefore, we donate 200 USD for each of our 102 employees to the Red Cross Campaign designated those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The organisations helping victims of Hurricane Harvey can be found on the Houston ABC 13's website.

We hope to attend and once again meet up with collegues and partners. In the meantime, we await the situation and hope to confirm our attendance at the SEG Annual Meeting in Houston soon.
