From October 1 Telekom renews its mobile data portfolio, offering an even wider assortment to customers. Thematic data volume expanding options - adapting to new internet usage patterns - enable users to set up unlimited data packages, meeting their personal needs. The already existing packages can also be boosted, without long term commitment required from the customer.

Adapting to changing internet usage patterns of customers, to the ever increasing internet usage through mobile devices Telekom now introduces even more simple and unified products and services. The new portfolio launches on October 1 and is fully adapted to the individual needs of mobile users - enabling everyone to configure the subscription according to his own content usage habits, offering even unlimited data volume. Components of the thematic data packages - made up in accord with data traffic type - can be freely chosen from an assortment richer than ever before. Telekom created the thematics of new data packages following the new internet usage patterns, on the basis of what people most often use mobile internet for.

Customers using mobile internet on their smartphones spend an average of 40 hours per week on the internet, including those almost exclusively visiting community sites, or browsing and emailing only, while some late birds only use the net after midnight - not to forget net fans of TV series. Unlimited thematic data options are named expressing these types (Community sites, Browsing and E-mail, Night Net, TV and Film or  TVGO), and can be availed unlimited either one by one or by varying those. The majority of people choose based on what they want to use mobile internet for. Earlier they may have gotten uncertain, not exactly knowing what their subscription would be enough for, or what they could use it for.  By offering the new, thematic unlimited data schemes Telekom intends to offer help in answering these questions.  Unlimited thematic data options  offer numerous advantages primarily because they can be varied, and they are also safe as users do not need to constantly check their balance, the service is not slowed down but can be used intensely and different options can be used simultaneously.

"Consequent to the frequency tender, the mobile broadband service coverage and capacities can be increased.  By dynamically increasing Magyar Telekom's 4G coverage even more customers are able to access our services, which represent the new era  of mobile internet. Our new, unlimited thematic mobile data packages will further promote  the rapid spread of 4G mobile internet usage" - said Christopher Mattheisen, CEO of Magyar Telekom.

As a further novelty of the new portfolio,  existing data packages can also be expanded, with the 1 or 3 Gigabyte Turbo data expansion options, also available from October 1.  The Turbo options can be used occasionally, without the customer having to commit himself for a longer term.  Customers choosing the Turbo option for 30 days are not bound by a loyalty period - while they can properly plan their usage, as it can be activated any time when needed, without any constant monthly charge.  The data volume purchased with the Turbo volume expander can also be shared between 2 SIM cards with the DuoNet option.

Telekom customers formerly using the Facebook Zero service can easily change for the unlimited Community option from October 1 - available either with monthly or periodic fees.  Choosing the Community data option not only can one view the Facebook text content but browse the text and picture content of up to 10 community sites.

By now more than 250,000 customers have decided to join Telekom's 4G mobile internet service, which means the number of the users of the service has increased more than six times within a single year.  Consequent to network modernization, Telekom's fastest network is available in 54% of the Hungarian population, which is planned to be increased to 80% by 2015  as the portfolio increases, by now 7 of 10 smartphones sold are 4G enabled, while the 4G traffic generated by customers increased 4 times, compared  to the same period last year.
