Deutsche Telekom announces an app development contest named "Contest of Business Apps" in six countries of Central-Eastern Europe, intended to raise awareness of SMEs of the wide range of innovative applications available, assisting and simplifying their everyday work. DT and its Hungarian subsidiary, Magyar Telekom offer prizes worth tens of thousands of Euros to individual developers who create the best, cloud-based business applications making the daily activities of SMEs easier, more simple and efficient. The contest offers excellent possibilities to developers wishing to raise awareness about their applications, as Telekom assists the developer of an app useable both in Hungary and internationally in entering the market, to introduce the developed application to business entities understanding and later using them. Only such developers qualify among the very best the apps which are considered really valuable and loveable by SMEs, as the SME community also casts votes on submitted apps.

Winners of each country can become strategic partners of Telekom in cloud-based technologies, hence reaching altogether 1.3 business users in 6 countries, while the Hungarian winner may win a communication campaign worth 30,000 Euros, provided by Magyar Telekom. The winner of the best international startup category will be assisted in marketing their product by the Krakow hub:raum incubator house, with up to 80,000 Euros.

"Telekom is committed to the technological development of small and medium size enterprises as this is one of the pre-conditions to establishing Digital Hungary. By announcing the contest in Hungary we intend to build a bridge between application developers and SMEs searching optimal solutions, hence creating a community where innovative ideas and the business sector looking for those interact.  I encourage everyone from individual developers to smaller startup companies to realise their ideas and apply to our contest. There is hardly any better opportunity namely for receiving the input, the opinion of the actual target group about an idea" - said Péter Lakatos, chief officer of Magyar Telekom responsible for SME services, who will also be the member of the international and Hungarian contest.

Applications can be submitted, which are targeting companies up to 250 employees and are available in browsers and/or mobile applications or tablets, and which stores data in cloud-based infrastructure. One can also apply with solutions which are in the creation phase yet. Of the 10 apps receiving the most votes, the international and country level winners will be selected by a professional jury.
