ICQ Launches Voice Messages with Speech Recognition

The latest version of ICQ for iOS and Android offers short voice messages and speech to text.

ICQ now lets users record and send voice messages. If several messages are sent consecutively, they will be played in the order received. The recipient can listen to them by holding thephone to his or her ear.

What's more, the new version of ICQ has unique feature - the app can convert voice messages to text. If listening to the messages is for some reason inconvenient, it can be converted to text with a tap.

After the app is updated, new features will be made available to a user within a day.

The updated ICQ app boasts enhanced video call performance over a slow Internet connection.

Android smartphone owners can now see whether their friends have read their messages. Read messages are now marked with a mini avatar of the recipient.

ICQ for Android saves storage space on the phone: temporary files are removed automatically to free up space.
