Makedonski Telekom Skopje : „Sea Hero Quest“ – the first mobile game in the world to fight dementia now also available in Virtual Reality version

• The Virtual Reality version will provide up to 15 times more precise data
• Makedonski Telekom provides VR corners for playing Sea Hero Quest

Deutsche Telekom presented the first Virtual Reality (VR) game and everyone can help in the fight against dementia. This version of the game will enable more detailed diagnosis of the spatial navigational problems in humans who can potentially develop dementia.

In 2016 Deutsche Telekom launched the mobile game 'Sea Hero Quest' that has been downloaded approximately 3 million times until now, which corresponds to 12 000 years of lab research (the largest research before Sea Hero Quest involved only 599 volunteers).

Makedonski Telekom, as part of the Deutsche Telekom Group, made a great contribution to the overall results of 'Sea Hero Quest'. Until now, over 21 000 citizens of Macedonia downloaded the game.

The game was developed in partnership with the University College London, the University of East Anglia and the Alzheimer's Research institution, and it was designed together with the games developers Glitchers.

Sea Hero Quest provided the largest database of this kind so far which is available to the scientists, considering that only 2 minutes spent playing Sea Hero Quest is equal to 5 hours of lab based research.

With the virtual reality version of the game, the spatial navigation data will be 15 times more precise.

Makedonski Telekom provided VR corners for playing Sea Hero Quest for all interested persons who want to contribute to this global dementia research in the Administrative building at Macedonia square in the period from 4 until 16 of September and in the Telekom Store in City Mall in the period from 4 until 10 of September.
