Maybank is pleased to announce the appointment of Mohd Suhail Amar Suresh bin Abdullah as Group Chief Technology Officer and a member of its Group EXCO effective 1 April 2015.

Suhail has over 30 years of progressive experience spanning across areas related to Corporate Strategy; Business Development & Marketing; Information Technology; Systems and Applications Architecture within the Banking and Telecommunications industries, both locally and regionally. He takes over from Geoff Stecyk who will be leaving the Maybank Group at the end of April 2015 to pursue other career interests.

Suhail joined Maybank in October 2012 as Head of Virtual Banking & Payments, CFS. In June 2014, he was appointed Chief Information Officer, Group Technology. During his tenure in the role as Head, Virtual Banking & Payments, he achieved several milestones. He spearheaded and led several regional initiatives; successfully launched Mobile M2U; and successfully turned around the Maybank Group Customer Care in terms of operational excellence. In addition, he contributed significantly to the achievement of several prestigious awards for Maybank.

Suhail was appointed to his present role as Head, Maybank Shared Services (MSS) & Group CIO, Group Technology in June 2014. He is also currently a Director of the Board of MCB Bank Limited, a member of Board Committees for the MCB's Business Strategy & Development, Risk Management & Portfolio Review.

Group President and CEO of Maybank, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias said that Suhail's extensive experience and expertise will support Maybank's ongoing efforts to leverage on technology to give the Group a competitive advantage and expand its regional capabilities in line with its vision to become a regional financial services leader.
