Before the unveiling of the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand on Sunday, the Manchester United legend attended a celebratory lunch with 50 special guests at Old Trafford.

Among the many figures from the world of football who paid tribute to Sir Bobby at the event was Sir Alex Ferguson, who counted the Reds' all-time leading goalscorer as a confidant, ally and friend throughout his 26 years at the club's helm.

Ever the skilled orator, Sir Alex captivated his audience with a warm tribute to his fellow knight of the realm and the MUTVcameras were there to capture it all.

In our three-minute excerpt above, Ferguson recounts the time he brought a 65-year-old Sir Bobby on as a substitute in Luis Figo's testimonial, before delivering a heartfelt message to Charlton's family.

In the year we mark the 60th anniversary of Sir Bobby's United debut, find many more features, videos and tributes in our special section at ManUtd.com/ThankYouSirBobby.
