Mandarin Oriental International : Carme Ruscalleda to Provide Michelin Star Touch to Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona's Christmas and New Year's Celebrations

Hong Kong, 11 December 2017 - Barcelona's premier gastronomic destination, Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is offering special celebratory menus crafted by seven Michelin-star chef, Carme Ruscalleda, for Christmas and New Year. To fully enjoy these gourmet experiences, guests can book the hotel's Christmas Time and New Year's Eve accommodation packages, which both come with additional treats and other benefits.

Together with her son, Raül Balam, at Moments restaurant and Alberto Catiñeiras at Blanc restaurant, the hotel's gastronomic consultant, Carme Ruscalleda, has created enticing menus for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day and Three Kings Day.

For Christmas Eve, Moments will offer Christmas Broth, Truffled Meatball and Vegetal Semolina among other dishes. Desserts feature Dorayaki and 'Hot Chocolate'. Blanc's Christmas Eve menu includes specialities such as Veal Sirloin with Squash, Cheese and Herbs.

On Christmas Day, imaginative dishes offered at Moments include Sea Cucumber and Artichokes, while at Blanc, old favourites, such as Traditional Catalan-style stuffed chicken will be served.

On New Year's Eve, Moments will present fine foods such as Lobster Taco or Venison and the temptingly named, New Year's Chocolate. Mediterranean flavours offered at Blanc range from Goose Barnacle Salad to Prawns on Toasted Sea Bread. Blanc's Great Gatsby themed dinner will include dancing until 3am. The hotel's Banker's Bar will serve exquisite cocktails and tapas throughout the evening.

Blanc will offer The New Year's Brunch on 1 January 2018, and a special menu for Three Kings Day on 6 January 2018.

For an eighth consecutive year, the hotel will support children's charity, the Daydream Foundation, with a 'Tree of Desires' decorated with children's letters asking for Christmas gifts. Guests can contribute either by purchasing a gift or donating money.

Other hotel festivities will include children offering letters to Santa Claus (December 20 and 21) and the Royal Page to the Three Kings (January 3 and 4), and a children's choir concert.
