Manila Electric : Meralco and General Trias partner for city’s long-term growth

Meralco and The City of General Trias recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) under Meralco's Energizing Partnerships Program (EPP), a partnership with the LGU to craft strategic plans for its long-term growth, including several residential developments and economic zones in the pipeline, and a planned Cavite-Laguna Expressway that is expected to spur developments in the area. Aside from providing the city with reliable and quality power supply, Meralco will also realize its smart city vision through programs on renewable energy and electric vehicles. The distribution utility has also installed smart meters in 130 households in Kalinga Village to enable prepaid electricity.

Manila Electric Co. is an electric distribution utility company in the Philippines covering 39 cities and 72 municipalities. The Company operates through two segments: Power and Other Services.
