Hong Kong - Manulife Asset Management today announces that it has appointed Eric Liu as Portfolio Manager with its Hong Kong dollar (HKD) and renminbi (RMB) fixed income team.

As part of Manulife Asset Management's Hong Kong-based fixed income investment team, Eric contributes to the research and analysis of HKD and RMB fixed income securities and to the management of related portfolios1.Eric and his peers work closely with related teams across Asia to facilitate real-time information flow. With Eric's addition the company's HKD and RMB fixed income investment team comprises four members who are part of a network of more than 60 fixed income professionals located on the ground in 10 markets across Asia. Manulife Asset Management has over US$44 billion in fixed income assets under management in the region2.

Based in Hong Kong, Eric joined the company on 13 April 2015 and reports to Paula Chan, Senior Portfolio Manager in charge of the HKD and RMB fixed income investment team.

Commenting on the appointment, Chan said: "We welcome Eric to the HKD and RMB fixed income investment team. We believe the HKD and RMB bond markets hold the potential to generate attractive returns via careful investment selection based on in-depth credit research. Eric's strong background in these markets bolsters our investment capability in these segments.

Eric has eight years of fixed income investment experience in the HKD and RMB markets. He joins Manulife Asset Management from Citicorp Hong Kong. Prior to this he worked with Harvest Global Investment and Standard Chartered Bank.
