Announcement marks latest milestone in Manulife's efforts to support the improvement of Children's Medical Treatment Environment

Tokyo, Japan,-Manulife Japan announced the donation recipients of its Special Support Project for 2014 at the 19th Conference of the  21st Century Aichi Children's Health Forum on November 16, which was hosted by the NPO Children's Health Forum.

Manulife's Special Support Project consists of two activities: "Manulife Waku Waku Room" and "Ideas to Improve Medical Treatment Environment for Children". 

For 2014, Sakai City Hospital (Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture) will receive a support to design a "Waku Waku Room" while an additional eight unique and promising proposals to improve the medical treatment environment for children are chosen as the donation receivers.

"Manulife Waku Waku Room" started in 2007, aiming to support designing playrooms with functions to create high-quality medical treatment environment for children in Japan. "Manulife Waku Waku Room" is designed, decorated and facilitated with great attention to detail under the experts' guidance. Ten (10) playrooms have been facilitated so far, helping children undergoing medical treatment.

"Ideas to Improve Medical Treatment Environment for Children" helps finance special proposals to improve the medical treatment environment for children in Japan. Seventy-four facilities and organizations have received support since the project started in 2006.

The  "Manulife Special Support Project" is part of Manulife's community activities, in cooperation with the Central Community Chest in Japan and the NPO Children's Health Forum.
