MAXIMUS (NYSE: MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced today that MAXIMUS Federal has been named a recipient of the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) Alliant 2 Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). Alliant 2 is an unrestricted, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), multi-vendor award with a contract ceiling of $50 billion.

Alliant 2 aims to provide cutting-edge Information Technology (IT) solutions and services for agencies across the federal landscape. It is aligned with the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and the Department of Defense Enterprise Architecture (DODEA) to ensure that it conforms with all current IT definitions and offers flexibility in contracting types to help improve risk mitigation. Alliant 2 has earned a 'Best in Class' status from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

'With decades of experience supporting federal agencies, the Alliant 2 contract will enable the MAXIMUS Federal team to broaden our support of federal agencies' IT, mission and citizen service objectives,' said Bruce Caswell, President and Chief Executive Officer of MAXIMUS. 'Alliant 2 allows us to provide our applied innovation and business process approaches to delivering IT solutions and services that truly help achieve greater outcomes for our federal customers.'

The predecessor contract, Alliant, was awarded in 2009 and is set to expire on April 30, 2019. GSA issued the Alliant 2 request for proposals in June 2016 and, after receiving 170 contract bids, GSA announced up to 60 awardees on November 17, 2017. The GSA recently announced an effective date to be July 1, 2018.

Alliant 2 has a five-year base period, and a five-year option period. Orders can extend five years beyond the option period, as long as the order is placed during the option period.
