Media General, Inc. (“Media General”; NYSE: MEG), one of the nation's largest connected-screen media companies, today announced that Steve Watt has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of WKRN-TV, its ABC affiliate in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Watt was promoted to this position after serving as the station’s General Sales Manager since 2008. During his tenure, he successfully built WKRN-TV’s brand recognition with advertisers, developed innovative sales strategies, and led the sales organization through a period of unprecedented growth. He will succeed Stan Knott who was elevated to Vice President of Broadcast Markets for Media General.

Mr. Watt earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications from Iowa State University. He launched his broadcasting career as a reporter at WOI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa. Subsequently, he worked in sales and management positions in Quad Cities, Iowa, including serving as General Manager of the Quad Cities Radio group from 1996-1998. Mr. Watt joined WKRN-TV in 2004 as a Local Sales Manager.
