TGCOM24: BORN ON THE INTERNET, COMING TO TV MONDAY 28
NOVEMBER SEES THE LAUNCH OF
A NEW FREE-TO-AIR ALL NEWS CHANNEL
LIVE ALSO ON THE WEB, TABLETS AND SMARTPHONES MANY FAMILIAR
MEDIASET FACES AND NEW PRESENTERS
Monday 28 November 2011 at 8.30 sees the official launch of
TgCom24, after the pre-launch phases of recent days following
the evolution of the political crisis and the creation of a
new government.
Mediaset's new all news system will broadcast
free-to-air on channel 51 on the digital terrestrial
platform, satellite channel 24 and is also available online
in live streaming on the TgCom24.it web site, and on
smartphones and tablets thanks to free downloadable
applications.
Live from six in the morning until 1 am the following day,
TgCom24 will provide a constant flow of continuously updated
news generated by an editorial team of over 130 digital
journalists. There will also be continuous feeds with news
updates from New York, London, Brussels and Jerusalem.
The schedule is divided into three-hour slots, each presented
by well-know Mediaset news presenters, initially Annalisa
Spiezie, Fabrizio Summonte, Benedetta Corbi, Luca Rigoni,
Ilaria Cavo along with Federico Novella.
There will also be a number of new faces fronting the more
than 20 daily bulletins of breaking news and the three main
editions of the news
scheduled for 12 midday, 6 pm and 9 pm.
But TgCom24 will also mean citizen journalism. Thanks to the
interactive nature of the system, users and viewers will be
able to actively participate by submitting real time reports,
images and video clips.
Multimedia and technology are the two fundamental elements of
a new all news offer characterised by an innovative touch
screen in the studio, a cutting edge operational centre and a
unique editorial system for Italy called Dalet, a
sophisticated integrated software system used by the most
modern international networks.
