SOMERSET, N.J., Aug. 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MTBC (Nasdaq:MTBC), a leading provider of proprietary, healthcare information technology solutions today announced that MTBC's Medical Director and team of ICD-10 coaches and account managers are available to provide customized support to current and prospective clients who have not yet charted out a course for transitioning to ICD-10.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has declared October 1, 2015 as the mandatory conversion date for all Medicare and Medicaid claims and most commercial payors have followed CMS' lead. This conversion will significantly increase the complexity involved in selecting appropriate diagnosis codes required to support payment and is expected to upend the prevailing paper-based model for capturing billing information and replace it with an electronic charge capture model.

"Healthcare providers only have 40 days left to learn and start using ICD-10, the complex new code set used to report medical diagnoses, for every patient encounter," said Adarsh Gupta, D.O., MTBC's Medical Director. He further explained, "Without the type of ICD-10 support that MTBC provides, doctors who have not implemented a solution will struggle to meet the impending deadline and missing this deadline means that their insurance reimbursements will grind to a screeching halt."

In addition to the more than 40 webinars that MTBC's team will be hosting over the next month, it also provides a variety of leading-edge tools and services to support providers as they transition to ICD-10:

  • Highly ranked web-based MTBC EHR with ICD-9 to ICD-10 crosswalking;
  • Easy to use MTBC iEHR, an mHealth application with embedded ICD-9 to ICD-10 crosswalking;
  • MTBC mHealth ICD-9 to ICD-10 converter;
  • Personal ICD-10 coaches to support each healthcare provider;
  • ICD-10 certified coders; and
  • PM integration with most other leading ICD-10 ready EHRs.
