Wed, Apr 1, 2015 Mellanox Promotes Tamir Azarzar, Lion Bassat, Noam Bloch, Rob Davis, Nimrod Gindi, Steen Gundersen, Sagi Rotem, Tzvika Shmueli and Brian Sparks to Vice President and Diego Crupnicoff and Dr. Liran Liss to Senior Principal Architect

SUNNYVALE, CA. and YOKNEAM, ISRAEL - April 1, 2015 - Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd., a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced the promotion of Tamir Azarzar to vice president of network adapter firmware, Lion Bassat to vice president of global product engineering, Noam Bloch to vice president of architecture, Diego Crupnicoff to senior principal architect, Rob Davis to vice president of storage technology, Nimrod Gindi to vice president of Mellanox Capital, Steen Gundersen to vice president of sales and marketing, Dr. Liran Liss to senior principal architect, Sagi Rotem to vice president of system software, Tzvika Shmueli to vice president of back-end chip design, and Brian Sparks to vice president of marketing communications.

Tamir Azarzar has served as Mellanox's vice president of network adapter firmware since April 2015. From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Azarzar was Mellanox's senior director of network adapter firmware and was responsible for post silicon management. From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Azarzar was Mellanox's director of chip design and successfully managed network adapter silicon projects. From 2001 to 2010, Mr. Azarzar held various roles within Mellanox's chip design and post-silicon team. Mr. Azarzar graduated with honors with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Lion Bassat has served as Mellanox's vice president of global product engineering since April 2015. Mr. Bassat brings 15 years of expertise in managing several product engineering groups and assembly technologies. Previously, Mr. Bassat acted as senior director of global product and test engineering where he was responsible for all Mellanox hardware products. Between 2000 and 2013, Mr. Bassat successfully held various roles within product and test engineering for Mellanox silicon devices and interconnect products as well as assembly technologies. Mr. Bassat carries a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with honors from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Noam Bloch has served as Mellanox's vice president of architecture since March 2015. From 2008 to 2015, Mr. Block was senior director of architecture at Mellanox where he was responsible for network adapter architecture. Mr. Bloch joined Mellanox in 1999, serving in several design and management positions. Mr. Bloch has contributed to the InfiniBand specifications and holds multiple patents in the field of high speed networking. Mr. Bloch graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and holds a M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Technion Institute of Technology Israel.

Diego Crupnicoff has served as Mellanox's senior principal architect since April 2015. Since 1999, Mr. Crupnicoff has driven ASIC, system and software architectures for 6 generations of Mellanox products. He is a member of numerous standard development organizations including the InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA) where he has chaired the Technical Working Group since 2006. Mr. Crupnicoff is a founding director of the OpenFabrics Alliance and chairs its Technology Advisory Council. Mr. Crupnicoff holds over 20 patents in the areas of computer networks, software and system architectures, and holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Rob Davis has served as Mellanox's vice president of storage technology since April 2015. Previously, Mr. Davis was vice president and chief technology officer at QLogic. Prior to QLogic, Mr. Davis spent over 20 years as a technology leader and visionary at Ancor Corporation until its acquisition by QLogic in 2000. Mr. Davis' in-depth expertise spans Virtualization, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SCSI, iSCSI, InfiniBand, RoCE, SAS, PCI, SATA, and Flash Storage.

Nimrod Gindi has served as Mellanox's vice president and managing director of Mellanox Capital since April 2015 and leads Mellanox Technologies' investments and acquisitions world-wide. Previously, Mr. Gindi served as senior director of Mellanox Technologies and has more than 14 years of professional operational and investing experience in the technology industry. Prior to establishing Mellanox Capital, Mr. Gindi served at various business and research and development management positions at Mellanox Technologies. Mr. Gindi holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Steen Gundersen has served as Mellanox's vice president of marketing and sales since April 2015. Mr. Gundersen joined Mellanox in June 2013 through the acquisition of IPtronics where he managed sales and marketing. Mr. Gundersen brings over 20 years of experience in the technology industry with an extensive background in product development, sales and marketing. Mr. Gundersen has held different international management positions at Tellabs, GiGA, Intel, and Alight. Mr. Gundersen holds a MSc. degree in electronic engineering from the Danish Technical University.

Dr. Liran Liss has served as Mellanox's senior principal architect since April 2015 and has led the advanced development and research team since 2011. Prior to 2011, Dr. Liss served as a principal architect for multiple diverse projects within Mellanox. Dr. Liss has co-authored numerous publications, patents, and industry-standard specifications. Dr. Liss joined Mellanox in 2006 as a development lead, supervising various projects. Prior to joining Mellanox, Dr. Liss held development positions at Microsoft Corporation. Dr. Liss holds a Ph.D. degree (with distinction) and B.Sc. degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering from the Technion Institute of Technology in Israel.

Sagi Rotem has served as Mellanox's vice president of system software since April 2015. From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Rotem was senior director of system software at Mellanox Technologies and was responsible for Switch/Router OS and SDK. From 2001 to 2010, he successfully held various roles within the chip design, architecture and software team. Mr. Rotem graduated Cum Laude with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion Institute of Technology Israel, B.Sc. in Physics from the Technion Institute of Technology Israel and holds a M.Sc. in Physics from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Tzvika Shmueli has served as Mellanox's vice president of back-end chip design since April 2015. Mr. Shmueli joined Mellanox in April 2000 as part of the backend engineering team, and since 2009, led Mellanox's design for test (DST) and back-end group. Mr. Shmueli holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Brian Sparks has served as Mellanox's vice president of marketing communications since April 2015. From 2005 to 2015, Mr. Sparks held various senior management roles at Mellanox Technologies where he led the company's corporate communication team. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Sparks held various marketing roles with Hifn, a network security semiconductor company. Mr. Sparks is an active contributing member in the network interconnect community. Currently, Mr. Sparks is the media and events director for the HPC Advisory Council, and a steering committee member of the HPCAC-ISC Student Cluster Competition. Previously, Mr. Sparks co-chaired both the InfiniBand Trade Association's and Open Fabrics Alliance's Marketing Working Groups. Mr. Sparks holds a B.S. Communication Studies from San Jose State University.
