TROY,Mich. (May 20, 2014)- Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR), a leading global supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking and aftermarket solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets, recently honored David Dettloff with its 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award for Product Engineering.

Dettloff, senior designer, Foundation Brake Engineering at Meritor's Troy, Michigan headquarters, received the award for designing products that have consistently fit the needs of global markets while reducing costs. Dettloff's major accomplishments since joining Meritor in 1975 include designing the Q+ brake product and variants for global customers as well as developing brake components for OEM and aftermarket applications.

"David has been instrumental in almost every incarnation of our Q+ brake design during the last three decades with Meritor," said Joe ElBehairy, vice president, Engineering, Quality and Product Strategy. "He's well-regarded in the engineering community for his technical contributions and passion for his work. Dettloff has 47 years of product and tool design experience, including 39 years with Meritor. He lives in Shelby Township, Michigan.
