The Electrical Installation Company of the 3rd China Metallurgical Construction Group (3MCC Group) declared that, the electrical installation works of the dry quenching (CDQ) project in Southern Xinjiang Steel Base of Xinjiang Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Baosteel Group, was completed, and the CDQ Power Station was combined to the grid for power supply on September 12, 2014. Thus the whole project has been put into operation.
The project is located in the Heavy Chemical Industry Park of Baicheng County in Akesu Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The project scope covers: electrical, instrumental and telecommunication equipment installation for CDQ (including the main body of CDQ facility, switching room, power station, de-dusting ground station and the other areas), as well as commissioning works for the electrical, instrumental and the other devices. The main CDQ works was put into operation in June of this year. As a supportive energy-conservation and environment-protection works, the CDQ Power Station can fully recover the heat generated by CDQ and turn it into electricity. This will contribute a power cost reduction of RMB 40 yuan for each ton of steel, and a total saving of nearly RMB 100,000 yuan can be achieved for each day. In this view, this CDQ works will not only save the operational costs, optimize the resources allocation, but also effectively protect the ecological environment of the local area.
