The Machinery Company of China First Metallurgical Construction Group (CFMCC Group) formally started the hoisting operation for the workshop structure and equipment of No. 3 turbine unit under the 2nd Phase Project of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant on December 22, 2014. The 18000-type crawler crane (600 tons) was employed for this purpose. The span of the lifting radius was nearly 29m, and the largest radius was up to 80m.
Before the lifting device was transferred to the jobsite, the Machinery Company of CFMCC Group conducted de-rusting, painting, lubricating and the other maintenance measures for the crawler crane (600 tons), so as to ensure it's best conditions for the operation on site. After it was transferred to the jobsite, under the leading by two technicians, six installation operators conquered the influences of various negative factors such as limited space for assembly work, insufficient landfill and cross-operation interference, and eventually finished the assembly of the main arm (48.8m in length) before the dome of the No. 3 reactor building was installed. After the onsite landfill work was done, the installation operators worked continuously and smoothly completed the adjustment and commissioning work for the main arm (48.8m in length) and tower-type jib (+70.1m).
The 2nd Phase Project of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant is one of the key nuclear power projects under cooperation between Russia and China. The construction of the No. 3 engine unit of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant was formally commenced on December 27, 2012, with a generated output of 1.12 million KW, and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in February 2018.
