On April 18th, two pieces of slag pot tilting equipment with the world's largest capacity manufactured by MCC Baosteel Technology were shipped as scheduled to Donghai Island Baosteel Base located in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province. As planned, they will be put into operation by the end of June this year.
The two delivered pieces of slag pot tilting equipment are specially designed for tilting and loading slag for use in the slag treatment cylinder workshops of Baosteel production based in Zhanjiang. As patent products, they were jointly developed by Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Yaoqin Tech.
The equipment will be mounted on the support platform at the top of a slag treatment cylinder. As electromechanical and hydraulic integrated equipment, they are comprised of five major parts: tilting stand, translation apparatus, rotation device, clamping mechanism and locking mechanism. They are designed with multiple functions to support, clamp, parallel move and tilt slag pots in order to dump slag into the cylinder's slag runner. Each piece is 15m in length, 9m in width and 4m in height. A single unit weighs 122 tons, 50 tons of which accounts for the dead weight of the tilting stand. With a rated capacity of 150 tons, it is the largest slag tilting equipment the world has ever seen in terms of capacity.
