The coke dry quenching (CDQ) works of Guizhou Qiangui Tianneng Coking Co., Ltd., which was contracted by the Industrial Furnace Company of China First Metallurgical Construction Group (CFMCC Group), was completed recently, with an output capability of 90 tons per hour. The oven-baking operation was started on August 13, 2014.
The jobsite is located to the north of Qiangui Tianneng Coking Plant, with is situated in Baiguo Town of Liupanshui City in Guizhou Province. As a transformation works (with an output capability of 90 tons per hour) of the plant, it was designed by ACRE Coking & Refractory Engineering Consulting Corporation of MCC (ACRE), and constructed by the Industrial Furnace Company of CFMCC Group. CDQ is an environment-friendly project of energy conservation. The sensible heat of the coke can be recovered by CDQ, which can be utilized in the form of steam. This will not only contribute to the energy conservation, but also indirectly play a role for environment protection, therefore double benefit can be achieved in both energy conservation and environment protection. Comparing with the wet quenching, the coke produced through CDQ is featured by outstanding enhancement in terms of mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, size composition and reactivity. When being applied in the iron-making process, it will contribute to the decreasing of blast furnace coke rate and enhancing the productivity of the blast furnace.
