Wuhan Surveying-Geotechnical Research Institute Co. of MCC Group (WSGRI) successfully won the bidding of the State Grid on the pile foundation works of Shaoxing Convertor Station under Lingzhou-Shaoxing ±800KV UHVDC Transmission Project on December 15, 2014.
The jobsite is located at the junction of Ciwu Town (in Zhuji City, which is 35km to the west of Shaoxing City) and Puyang Town (in Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou City). The contract scope covers the pile foundation works for the 500KV power distribution area, framework of alternating current filter, relay chamber, electricity room, administration building, warehouse for spare parts, comprehensive bump room, firefighting bump room and industrial fire pool. Two kinds of cast-in-place piles are to be employed, respectively with the diameters of 600mm and 800mm, with the pile length varying from 12m to 43m. The total engineering quantity is 15,600 cubic meters.
As a key part of the north passageway under the West-East Power Transmission Project, Lingzhou-Shaoxing ±800KV UHVDC Transmission Project starts from Lingwu of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the west of China, and ends at Zhuji City in the east, crossing six provinces or autonomous regions such as Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, He'nan, Anhui and Zhejiang. This is a new ±800KV UHVDC Transmission Project with the transmission volume of 8 million KW following Kumul-Zhengzhou Project and Xiloudu-Zhejiang Project invested by the State Grid. It is of great significance for transformation of energy resources advantage into economic strength in the west of China, and promotion of the upgrading of the grid transmission technologies in China.
