The technical consultation for the detailed survey works of the 2×300 MW coal-fired power plant in Vietnam, which was contracted by Wuhan Surveying-Geotechnical Research Institute Co. of MCC Group (WSGRI), was completed on October 21, 2014.
Located in Ha Long City of Quang Ninh Province, this power plant is regarded as one of the key national power projects under the No. 6 National Power Development Planning of Vietnam. The project was formally approved the government in 2008. It is designed with an installed gross capacity of 2×300 MW, and the CFB circulating fluidized bed coal technology will be adopted for the power plant.
As per the contract signed with the employer, WSGRI designated professional technicians to provide guidance on the detailed geological survey and make control on the quality and technical results of the survey work. During the consultation, the technicians of WSGRI conducted in-depth study on the national specifications of Vietnam, worked out tailored scheme for the detailed geological survey and the drilling proposals. They offered on-site guidance on the drilling operation for the Vietnamese employees, and carried out acceptance inspection on various processes such as catalog, sampling, delegation of water test on rock-soil and the finished drill-hole. Within the 3-month contract period, 212 holes (nearly 6,000 meters) were drilled and passed through acceptance inspection under the guidance offered by the WSGRI's technicians.
