Metallurgical of China : He Wenbo Visits MCC Group for Investigation and Guidance

On May 11th, China Minmetals Group President and Party Committee Secretary He Wenbo visited the MCC Group to hold a cadre symposium, carefully heard the introductions of participants, communicated and discussed the relevant issues and made an important speech. The symposium was hosted by the MCC Group's Board Director, General Manager, Vice Party Secretary, MCC Group President and Party Secretary Guo Wenqing, and attended by 35 people including MCC General Manager and MCC Group President Zhang Zhaoxiang, MCC leading group members and leaders above department director level.

In his speech, He Wenbo discussed three aspects: accurately understanding the significance of the recombination, carefully implementing SASAC's requirements for the recombination, and introducing the reform and development of the China Minmetals Group.

He Wenbo began by pointing out that, in compliance with the requirements of the State Council, it is an irresistible trend that the China Minmetals Group and MCC Group who hold significant positions in market and rank among the world's top 500 enterprises should join together to realize the alliance of giants. The China Minmetals Group is a highly internationalized enterprise with overseas capital accounting for 40% of its total capital and 12% of foreign staff, while the MCC Group is one of the main forces in national capital construction and overseas engineering contracting. Both enterprises have great influence in their fields, and have achieved excellent development performance. As the promotion of integration, the value of this recombination will be witnessed by more people. The recombined China Minmetals Group will focus on constructing the world's top metal and mining enterprise group, and make efforts to become a State-owned capital investment company in the metal and mining industry. Its new strategic position is to become the 'guarantor of resource security, innovator of industrial upgrading and driver of circulation and transformation'. Led by the national policy of strengthening the supply side, the 'One Belt and One Road' strategy and the 'Going Global' strategy, the scale and synergistic effects of this recombination on such businesses as resource development, bulk commodity trade and circulation, project construction and real estate development will gradually appear.

He Wenbo stressed that we should firmly carry out SASAC's requirements for the recombination and give full play to our advantages so as to accelerate the recombination's progress, release its benefits, gradually realize the intent and aims of both sides and achieve the desired effects. We should pay close attention to the integration of central enterprise culture, further enhance Party construction, implement all measures of 'three removal, one decrease and one supplement', and win the fight for the quality promotion and effectiveness increase of central enterprises, thereby realizing the aims and tasks of reform and recombination as soon as possible.

Finally, He Wenbo stressed that the recombination will not change the independence and integrity of the MCC Group as a listed company, and the original development strategy will not change due to the change in shareholders. As this substantial recombination is processed, MCC's operation team will gain a better operation environment and conditions. The recombined China Minmetals Group will constantly develop in the career industry, and create a broader vocational development space for every operator and manager with dreams, pursuits and ability. Party cadres should firmly execute the national strategic layout and jointly accomplish the strategic task of recombination so as to make the recombined China Minmetals Group better and stronger. Only in this way can our vocational development have brighter prospects.

He Wenbo also introduced the recent operation situation of the Group, particularly measures introduced in 2015 such as the strict control of risks, reduction of occupation, returning to operation essence and practicing basic ability, etc.

Zhang Zhaoxiang expressed his gratitude to He Wenbo for his investigation and guidance at the MCC Group. On behalf of the administrative level, he declared that the requirements of President He will be implemented in practical work, and they will firmly accomplish the work and focus on the reform and development of the MCC Group so as to devote efforts to the transformation and development of the new China Minmetals Group.

Guo Wenqing concluded that the visit of President He fully represented his care for the MCC Group, and all its cadres and staff. President He sincerely explained why the two enterprises need this recombination, and what the development status of the China Minmetals Group, the MCC Group, cadres and staff will be like after recombination. It is difficult for the MCC Group to achieve current development depending on the passion for work of all cadres and staff members. After the recombination, the MCC Group will have a larger development space and more opportunities, and a larger promotion space for the Group's cadres and staff. As such, we need to perform well in our top-level design. Achievements are obtained from efforts and enterprise value is created. We shall carefully study and understand the spirit of President He's speech, focus on implementation, maintain our enthusiasm for our work, be passionate about our work and prepare to undertake greater responsibilities.
