Metallurgical of China : MCC Group Holds Party Committee Enlargement Meeting

On May 9th, President, General Manager and Deputy Party Committee Secretary of the China Minmetals Corporation and Chairman and Party Committee Secretary of the MCC Group Guo Wenqing held the MCC Group's Party Committee Enlargement Meeting in order to deliver and study the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the spirit of the China Minmetals Corporation's Leadership Enlargement Meeting.

At the meeting, the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping was studied and the whole text of Carefully Study the Party Constitution, Strictly Obey the Party Constitution and Step into the Future with Learning was read in detail.

Guo Wenqing pointed out that the series of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speeches has rich contents, discussions and arguments integrating current issues with ancient theories in a profound and meaningful way. We should carefully learn them, try to understand their true essence and apply them to guide our practical work. He also required the leading group members to set an example in learning, participate in study in the sub-departments as ordinary Party members, and develop study notes.

The China Minmetals Corporation held the Leadership Enlargement Meeting. Entrusted by the leaders of the CCCPC's Organization Department, the responsible person of the Cadre Bureau announced the decision of the Party Central Committee and State Council that Guo Wenqing is to be appointed as President, General Manager and Deputy Party Committee Secretary of the China Minmetals Corporation. The MCC Group is an important listed company of the China Minmetals Corporation. Guo Wenqing will continue to hold the position of Chairman of the MCC Group, and the Group's independence as a listed company will not change. The Company will continue in its healthy development bearing the strategic position of being the 'National Team of metallurgical construction, the main force of infrastructure construction and the pacemaker of emerging industries'.

Guo Wenqing made a speech to deliver the message that he will firmly support and comply with the decision of the Central Party Committee, and carefully carry out and implement the speech spirit of the leaders from the Organization Department of the CCCPC, saying, 'The Party Committee has decided to appoint me General Manager of the China Minmetals Corporation. I feel deeply honored with this mission, and I will bear great pressure and undertake significant responsibilities. For this opportunity, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Party Committee for its care and cultivation, and to the leaders and staff of both the China Minmetals Corporation and the MCC Group for their trust, support and encouragement. I will redouble my efforts to complete this mission and live up to this great trust.'

Guo Wenqing pointed out that the China Minmetals Corporation is currently in a key stage of reform, poverty relief and overcoming difficulties. Firmly led by the Board of Directors of the China Minmetals Corporation and Party Committee, and closely depending upon leaders and staff, he will try to perform well in the following aspects: first, he will focus on policies and be loyal to the Party; second, he will learn with modesty to promote his ability; third, he will keep his feet on the ground and work hard; fourth, he will harmoniously cooperate with others and be united and integrated; and fifth, he will summon the integrity and self-discipline to shoulder his responsibilities.

Guo Wenqing went on to point out that this recombination is an important measure for the production and life of the whole staff of the China Minmetals Corporation and MCC Group. The strategic recombination of the enterprise requires united hearts and strong will. 'I believe that with the firm leadership of the Central Party Committee, State Council and SASAC, insisting on the prioritization of strategy, and bearing the spirit of 'Never delaying and never slacking' in our hard work, we can realize the continuous and healthy development of the China Minmetals Corporation and achieve the aim of becoming the world's first-class China Metal Mining Industry Company', he said.

As to the Party Committee Enlargement Meeting, Guo Wenqing stressed that the recombination of the MCC Group and China Minmetals Corporation is the key layout of a new round of in-depth adjustments within central enterprises, and it belongs to structural adjustment and reform of the supply chain. Upon this recombination, the new China Minmetals Corporation will devote itself to building the China Metal Mining Group, undertake the responsibility of ensuring the security of national metal mineral resources, and become a company invested with State-owned capital, thereby creating a larger platform for the MCC Group and a larger development space for all its cadres and employees.

The meeting was attended by the leading group members of the China MCC Group, and leaders and cadres equivalent to or above deputy director level from the departments of the General Headquarters.
