Metallurgical of China : Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng Leads Investigation and Survey Group to Inspect National Gateway Building Project

On December 2nd, National Ministry of Transport Minister Li Xiaopeng and Guangxi Autonomous Region Government Deputy Chairman Chen Gang led an investigation and survey group to visit key projects assumed by the MCC17 Group including the Sino-Vietnam Cross Border Economic Cooperation Zone (China's parks) National Gateway Building Project to carry out an inspection, investigation and survey.

Minister Li Xiaopeng asked detailed questions at the construction site of the project. The principal of MCC17's National Gateway Building Project reported that the general contract construction of the Dongxing Test Site Cross Border Economic Cooperation Zone China's Park National Gateway Building Project (EPC). The building has a horizontal width of 110m, a vertical depth of 28.6m, a highest point of 68m and a span of 60m. It integrates various functions including national gateway image demonstration, port joint inspection and comprehensive office building. Upon completion, it will become the highest and longest land border port national gateway with the biggest building area in south China. Since its commencement on May 31st, the Project Department has deeply practiced the '24-hour working method', paid attention to safety and ensured quality and progress through the simple yet profound MCC spirit of 'Never delaying and never slacking'.

Minister Li Xiaopeng showed his appreciation for the high standards and quality construction of the National Gateway Building Project, and pointed out that such key projects as the Sino-Vietnam Beilun River Second Bridge and National Gateway are significant for further enhancing Sino-Vietnam and even Sino-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) connectivity. The relevant departments and units should finish the management, coordination and services of the project, and boost its construction with high efficiency. Meanwhile, it is particularly necessary to strengthen safety production management, guarantee construction safety and endeavor to build excellent, high quality and harmonious projects.

The investigation and survey were also attended by such leaders as Guangxi Autonomous Region Transport Department Director Pan Wei and Fangchenggang City Mayor He Chaojian.
