MetLife, Inc. (NYSE:MET) today announced that it has hired Thomas Metzler as a managing director in the Institutional Client Group of MetLife Investment Management (MIM). Metzler will be focusing primarily on pension plans.

Prior to joining MetLife, Metzler held various roles in asset management, private banking, and debt capital markets at J.P. Morgan Chase. Most recently he served as managing director and Head of America's Corporate Sales and Relationship Management for Global Liquidity.

“Tom is a strong addition to the team at MetLife Investment Management,” said Joseph Pollaro, chief operating officer of MIM. “He brings more than 20 years of broad financial services experience, including business development with large corporates and other institutions. In addition, his extensive relationship-management background will be an asset to MIM’s institutional asset management business.”

Metzler holds an MBA in finance from Fordham University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Rutgers University. In addition, Metzler is licensed with FINRA.
